As I detailed in my last post, I got a new iPhone today. The one down side was that it took about two hours to restore to the settings of my last phone. I have no idea as to the capabilities of other phones to do this process, but it just seemed to be a bit on the long side for me.
I did not make any calls on the phone tonight, however I sent and received several texts. Things went very well texting. I had always assumed it was poor AT&T service, but it was odd to me that I texted with such ease. No fails yet. We will see how this new phone behaves in the long run, but this is a nice start.

Here's how this will work: Beginning January 9, 2010 I will make a note of every time AT&T service fails me. The most common fails are as follow:
-A dropped call
-Failure to complete an outgoing call
-Failure to send a text message
-Voicemail left at one point in time does not appear until a later point in time
-Failure to activate 3G internet service
I will do the best I can to note each and every occurrence of failure of coverage, as well as a rough estimate of my location at the time of the fail. At the end of my coverage month I will post a summary of my service, such as number of phone calls made and total of text messages sent to present an accurate image of AT&T's success.
